Don’t miss the International Dance Festival every summer, the Choralies (triennial, next edition 2025) and numerous events around choral singing (classical, modern, gospel). Market on Tuesday, many quality shops, some very good restaurants.

15 Km • Carpentras
The capital of the former Comtat Venaissin is a city of markets and culinary specialties (truffle, strawberries, melons, sweets and candied fruits). It houses the oldest synagogue in France (1367), the remarkable Inguimbertine library, and the Saint-Siffrein cathedral, in southern Gothic style. Large market on Friday, beautiful flea market every Sunday in season.

20 Km •  Mont Ventoux
The “Giant of Provence”! Culminating at 1,910 m, its lunar summit can be seen from afar. Towards the Alps to the north and the Mediterranean to the south, it offers an exceptional panorama and a pleasant cool temperature in summer! The old shepherds’ paths are today dedicated to hiking. Classified as a Biosphere reserve by UNESCO, Mont Ventoux is a leading ecological zone. On its slopes, you will be able to observe a varied flora found in Central Europe, alongside Mediterranean flora. At the summit you can come across species typical of the Arctic regions! Birds, birds of prey, deer, roe deer, chamois, mouflons, wild boars and… wolves can be observed there. The Mont Serein ski resort (1,400 m) attracts thousands of tourists each year in summer (fun and sporting activities).

21 km • Nyons
Shaded squares, arcades, shops and terraces, Tour Randonne and Pont Roman (18 m high) on the Eygues river, old mills, traditional Provençal market on Thursday morning (one of the most beautiful in the Drôme), rich in colors and flavors of local products: oil and olives from Nyons of course (produced in AOC/AOP, celebrated during the Olivades in July), truffles, honey, lavender, organic fruits and vegetables, wines, lime trees and aromatic plants. To visit in summer: the Bleu Provence distillery, the Scourtinerie, the last factory of scourtins, small flat woven baskets used as a filter during the extraction of olive oil, or the Vignolis cooperative and its olive museum. Along the way, stop at Venasque, also classified among the most beautiful villages in France (6th century baptistery, cherry festival in June).

Not far from Gordes is the pretty hilltop village of Roussillon which draws its originality from its confectioners, specialists in candied fruits, and its land. Loaded with ocher, this material used since prehistory, exploited by the Romans, is a mineral pigment which colors the walls of houses yellow or red. To visit: the Ocher Ecomuseum. Very beautiful walks to take, on foot or by bike, on the neighboring sites of ocher: Mormoiron, Roussillon or Rustrel (Provençal Colorado).
